Elmer Honey is Now Stocked at Pier Road Coffee & Art – A Local Partnership We’re Proud Of

We’re thrilled to share some sweet news—Pier Road Coffee & Art in Littlehampton is now stocking our honey from The Elmer Honey Co.!

This lovely independent coffee shop and art space is run by the wonderful Mike and Lucy, who have built something really special just a short walk from the riverfront. Despite the name, the café isn’t actually on Pier Road—but don’t let that confuse you. It’s easy to find, always welcoming, and full of local charm.

For us, this isn’t just another stockist—it’s a meaningful partnership between two local, independent businesses that care about quality, community, and keeping things real.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Littlehampton

If you’ve never been to Pier Road Coffee & Art, you’re missing out on one of Littlehampton’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away in a quiet spot just a short stroll from the seafront and town centre, it’s a cosy and creative space where great coffee meets beautiful local art.

Mike and Lucy have created more than just a coffee shop. It’s a place where people meet for conversation, creativity and comfort. With ever-changing art on the walls and a focus on supporting small producers and makers, it’s precisely the sort of independent café we love being part of.

Meet the Honey Behind the Jar

At The Elmer Honey Co., we’re a small, family-run beekeeping business based just along the coast in the village of Elmer. All of our honey is raw, unprocessed, and packed with local flavour—harvested gently from hives nestled among the wildflowers, hedgerows, and gardens of West Sussex.

We don’t heat or pasteurise our honey. We don’t ultra-filter it or blend it. What you get is just as the bees intended: rich, golden, and full of natural goodness. Every jar reflects the unique flowers the bees have visited that season.

For us, honey is more than just a sweet treat—it’s a celebration of nature, sustainability, and the quiet magic of the Sussex coast.

A Natural Fit

When we first connected with Mike and Lucy, it was clear we had a lot in common. Like us, they believe in doing things properly. Their coffee is excellent, their space is full of heart, and they’ve built their business with the same care and community focus that we value so highly.

They’re not just a café—they’re supporters of artists, small businesses, and local food producers. So seeing our honey on their shelves is a genuine honour.

You’ll now find our jars available to buy directly from the counter at Pier Road Coffee & Art—perfect as a gift, a keepsake from your trip to the coast, or something to enjoy at home.

Why It Matters

We know you can buy honey in supermarkets. However, most of that honey has been pasteurised, overprocessed, or shipped halfway across the world. When you buy a jar from us—especially from a local business like Pier Road Coffee & Art, you’re getting something truly special.

You’re supporting British bees, Sussex biodiversity, and two local businesses that genuinely care about their work. You’re choosing flavour over factory farming and transparency over convenience.

And perhaps most importantly, you’re helping to keep our countryside buzzing—literally.

While You’re There…

Don’t just pop in for a jar of honey. Make time to enjoy the whole Pier Road experience. Their coffee is top-notch (we recommend the flat white), and their cakes are always tempting. There’s usually a rotating selection of art, handmade crafts, and prints to browse, many of which are created by Sussex artists.

Whether you’re meeting friends, looking for a quiet place to read, or just warming up after a walk along the seafront, Mike and Lucy have created the perfect atmosphere for it.

They’re open most days. Check their website or social media for the latest info on opening times, exhibitions and local products.

Come and Say Hello

If you’re in or around Littlehampton, be sure to pop into Pier Road Coffee & Art and pick up a jar of our honey. It means the world to small businesses like ours when you choose to shop locally.

And if you’ve already discovered us through Pier Road—thank you! We’d love to see how you’re using our honey at home. Tag us on Instagram @elmerhoneyco and let us know.

Here’s to more local collaborations, more brilliant independent shops, and a future that tastes just a little bit sweeter.
